WA Earns Best Communities for Music Education for 3rd Consecutive Year

West Allegheny was selected as one of the Best Communities for Music Education for 2020 by the NAMM Foundation for the 3rd consecutive year. WA is one of 754 districts across the nation recognized for outstanding efforts by music teachers, administrators, parents, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education and demonstrate an exceptionally high commitment and access to music education. This award reflects the positive interactions and overall synergy between the WA music program and the district communities throughout the year.

During the school closure, we will be providing any children age preschool through 18 who lives in West Allegheny District the opportunity to receive free meal service at both Wilson Elementary School and the High School.

WA Earns Outstanding Visual Arts Community 2019

West Allegheny has been recognized for its outstanding commitment to visual arts education and has received the endorsement "Outstanding Visual Arts Community 2019" by the Pennsylvania Art Educators Association.  Congratulations to art teachers Claire March, Brittney Counihan, Sharon Harn, Leah Shuck and Mike Short.
