West Allegheny High School is rooted in tradition and excellence, offering many avenues for students to excel in academics, arts, and athletics through our vibrant and rich culture. To guide students through our robust Program of Studies, including over 150 academic courses, students embark on a Career & College Pathway designed to best prepare them for their future, whether it be in a career field, post-secondary education, or the military.
We strive to prepare every student for 21st century careers by providing opportunities to gain college credits and/or workforce certifications through access to Early College In High School programs, 23 Advanced Placement courses, our partnership with Parkway CTC, and dual enrollment opportunities with local universities. In addition, students have the opportunity to participate in the U.S. Marine Corps Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps, preparing students for leadership roles and motivating them to become better citizens.
Supplementing our academic offerings, students are encouraged to participate in any of our 40+ Extra-curricular Athletic Teams and 25+ Clubs and Activities to support and develop the whole student.
