West Allegheny was excited to recognize 226 students at its annual High School Awards Ceremony that recognizes student academic achievement. Students and their families were invited to the evening event that celebrated those who excelled at Advanced Placement and Early College in High School Academy courses during the 2023-2024 school year.

We are so incredibly proud of our very talented Art Department for being one of only four school districts in Pennsylvania to be honored with the award of Outstanding Visual Arts Community for the fifth consecutive year. District representatives Leah Shuck, Mike Short, Brittney Counihan, and Emma Popp traveled to the Pennsylvania Art Educators Association Conference in Hershey this past weekend to receive the award.

West Allegheny High School has been named to the 2024 AP School Honor Roll as a Silver Member. The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools whose AP programs are delivering results and broadening access for students. Schools can earn the Honor Roll recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing their school’s college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit, and maximizing college readiness.
