Welcome to Donaldson Elementary School where our students are the number one priority and focus! Your experience at Donaldson Elementary features an outgoing and dedicated staff, supported by a tremendous PTA, parent volunteers, caring families, and a strong school community. In the 2014-2015 school year, Donaldson Elementary earned the prestigious National Blue Ribbon Award, a source of great pride for the West Allegheny School District and the community.
Donaldson Elementary is home to a rigorous course of study that includes all core subjects such as English Language Arts, Mathematics, Social Studies, and Science, as well as, the fine and applied arts that encompass music, art, physical education, swimming, library, and computer innovation and design (CID). CID offers students in grades 1-5 opportunities in Computer Science, Innovation and Design. Students engage in computer programming/coding through programs like Tynker, Scratch, Code and Lego Robotics (grades 3-5). Additionally, students are participating in a cooperative design process in the MakerSpace through Project Lead the Way (grades 4-5) and mini-design challenges (1-5).
Donaldson Elementary students are provided opportunities to participate in school programs such as instrumental music, chorus, Donaldson Discovers, Rachel’s Challenge, and the Olweus Anti-Bullying Program.
