Learning

kindergarten students
The West Allegheny School District provides a wide range of educational services and programs for students in grades kindergarten through five. These programs and services are aligned to the Pennsylvania Core Standards that lay the foundational skills students need throughout their academic years and for future success in college and the workplace as they learn basic skills and concepts as well as problem solving and critical thinking.

Subjects at the elementary level are often taught in conjunction with one another so students can see the relationships among the various subjects. The skills and concepts taught at each grade level are practiced and expanded upon throughout the elementary grades. Information is provided for each content area to highlight how we approach instruction for our elementary students. Our elementary teachers, counselors, and administrators are committed to supporting the academic learning of all students.
