Attendance is required of all students during the days that school is in session, regardless of in-person or online/remote (WAVA) status. The school district is required to maintain and report attendance records to the PA Department of Education in accordance with the law.
Attendance will be monitored as follows:
- Students must log in to Accelerate Education (K-5) or Edmentum (6-12) every day during the school week. This includes ½ days as scheduled by the district. The normal school week is five (5) days, Monday through Friday.
- Students do not need to login on days that in-person school is not in session.
- Attendance reports will are pulled weekly on Mondays for the previous week. Attendance reports are run from Monday to Sunday. Students that have missed any days will be marked absent in Skyward.
- Multiple logins in the same day only count one day towards weekly attendance requirement.
- Students who are sick or have planned absence should report that to their home school and provide written excuses to the school upon their return.
- If a long-term absence occurs, parents should notify the WAVA coordinator or the school counselor to discuss steps in meeting the student's educational needs during the absence.
