As
parents, educators and community members, we recognize the innate need to
protect our children from negative influences, notably the drug and opioid
epidemic that has taken so many lives both locally and across the nation. One such life that ended too soon was that of
Jonathan Levitt, a West Allegheny graduate who lost his battle with opioid
addiction in 2017 at the age of 22.
Jonathan was considered by those who knew him to be passionate about
family, friends, hockey, travel and LIFE.
West Allegheny School District proudly presented Jonathan’s Story told graciously by his father Rich Levitt. In the hope of educating others, Mr. Levitt will shared what unexpectedly led to Jonathan’s addiction, his challenging attempts at recovery, and how addiction ultimately took his life. Mr. Levitt was joined by Don Cokus, North Fayette Township and Kelly Wesolosky.
